PLACERVILLE: Renown Steely Dan Tribute Band “Steelin Dan” has teamed up with El Dorado County Winemaker David Girard Vineyards to help raise much needed funds for the National Veterans Foundation (NVF)---one of America’s leading veterans service providers, and operators of our country’s first, and longest running toll-free crisis management, information, and referral hotline for veterans and families nationwide.

Based in Los Angeles and founded in 1985, the NVF has served more than 275,000 veterans and families to date--- from WWII to Iraq, all 50 states and around the world. It’s signature service, “The Lifeline,” is a call center through which trained fellow veterans answer all calls live and provide emotional support, information & referral, as well as crisis and case management services to veterans and families facing wide ranging needs---from suicide intervention, to VA Benefits help, PTSD counseling, employment assistance, housing, transportation, legal aid, and a host of other services.

Last year, the NVF expanded its one-of-a-kind “Lifeline” service to 12 hours/day, 7 days a week, and has already experienced a 400% increase in call volume.
