NVF provides immediate crisis/suicide, substance abuse, and PTSD counseling to veterans struggling with the emotional scars of war, and makes direct referrals to rehabilitation agencies specializing in serving veterans with substance abuse or other mental health problems.

NVF counsels and advocates on behalf of veterans who are having difficulty accessing the government benefits that they need to support themselves and their families. Often, these callers are unable to work because of a service connected disability, or are older veterans (including veterans of WWII, Korea, and Vietnam) living on fixed incomes who have never applied for healthcare or financial benefits before and are experiencing difficulties navigating the system. Without NVF’s direct assistance and advocacy, many of these low income veterans would never be able to access the benefits they need and have earned.

Your contribution will allow us to connect:

homeless veterans and their families in need of food or shelter with the local community services that can provide immediate assistance.
veterans in need of job training, or job placement assistance with the local services that will help put them back to work.
low and fixed income veterans with the localized transportation services they need to get to the doctor, VA hospital, place of employment, or drug treatment facility.
veterans with free/low cost legal aid services in their communities.
